"The swordfish is commonly known as" the gladiator "(hence the epithet of his scientific name, gladius), due to the shape of his body and the similarity of his beak with a sword (gladius in Latin), which he uses as a weapon both to attack his prey, and to defend himself from his natural predators. Sometimes, it is also called "emperor", although this name also refers to a very different species, Luvarus imperialis. This confusion is caused by the similarity of the meat of the fillets of both species. "- Wikipedia
