A 16th-century Canarian house converted into a chic hotel

David Rodríguez Benítez

There is nothing more special than staying in a hotel with history. Therefore, when the Moba Arquitectura team received the proposal to reform this house in Telde of typical Canarian construction of the XVI century, to turn it into the flirtatious 16th century Hotel, he could not contain his enthusiasm.

The house, acquired room by room by a Canarian cabinetmaker, is distributed on two floors: the low dates from the 16th century, and the upper one from the 19th century. The main objective of the reform was to enhance the essence of the house, recovering the old materials and making them live with warm textures and clear tones dominated by the broken white, that is, with the most absolute simplicity so that nothing made a shadow of the really important.

In addition, the furniture was mostly made to measure, giving each space a unique environment where everything fits perfectly.
